The brake line switch is a hydraulically operated switch that is mounted in the brake line. When the operator applies the brake, hydraulic pressure in the brake line rises, closes the contacts in the brake switch and turns on the brake lights. Once the operator releases the brakes, the hydraulic pressure in the brake line decreases and the switch returns to the open position.
