The rack and pinion assembly (steering rack) is the mechanical linkage between the steering shaft and the tie rod ends connected to the steering spindles. The rack and pinion assembly turns rotational input from the steering wheel into directional movement. Depending on which way the operator turns the steering wheel, the rack and pinion will steer the front wheels the same direction.
Replacement steering rack and pinion for Columbia/ParCar models: Eagle Legacy P4, Scout S10, Summit SMT SM2 SM4 SUV, Electric Utilitruck EU, Shuttle C6, and Tram C10. This is the factory upgrade & replacement from the original CVG709061
